MRS. J. W. WILSON RITES ARE HELD
RESIDENT OF NORA SPRINGS FOR MANY YEARS BURIED AT ROCK GROVENora Springs, May 16 – Funeral services for Mrs. J. W. Wilson were held Wednesday afternoon at the home, conducted by the Rev. A. W. Caul, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Mason City. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Moody, accompanied by Mrs. E. E. Chenoweth sang. Burial was in Rock Grove Cemetery.
Grace Darling Allis, daughter of W. H and Lillis Allis, was born June 22, 1879, at Cresco. When 12, moved with her parents to Nora Springs where with the exception of two years, she spent the remainder of her life. In 1898 she was married to J. Walter Wilson of Salem, Virginia. To this union two daughters were born, Lillis and Ruth.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Baptist Church, the Rebekah’s and Eastern Star lodge.
She leaves her husband, her daughters; Ruth G., at home who was born on her mother’s birthday, June 22; Mrs. Lillis Spain of Conrad; three sisters; Mrs. John A. Wiley of Mason City; Mrs. Morris D. Rowland, Libby, Montana; Mrs. C. C. Parker, Tacoma, Washington.
Many old friends of the family from Mason City attended the funeral as well as several teachers who were co-workers with Miss Ruth Wilson in the Mason City schools. Pallbearers were Sam Sherman, George Durant, E. E. Sherman, Carl Thompson, John R. Adams and E. C. Moody.
