Alex Buls – March 3, 1887 – February 14, 1950

Elma – Funeral services were Friday for Alex Buls, 82, who died suddenly at this home Tuesday. He was born March 3, 1887 in Tripoli and received is education in the public schools at that place.

On July 21, 1910 he married Sophia Stueber at Artesian.

He leaves eight children; Walter, Waterloo; Mrs. Harlan Averhof, Elma; Clarence, Saratoga; Mrs. Herbert Eifler, Saratoga; Mrs. Ben DeVries, Orchard; Mrs. Harold Berentsen, Alta Vista; Lorraine, Waterloo; Donald, at home. One daughter died in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Buls farmed in Bremer County for three years then moving to Howard County, living north of Elma until five years ago, when they moved to their home in the east part of town.

Mr. Buls death was the result of coronary thrombosis.
