Walter Bork, 87, died Saturday, August 8, 1998, at Evans Memorial Rest Home in Cresco.

He was born February 23, 1911, in Grafton, IA, the son of John Bork, Sr. and Emma Glauwitz. He was confirmed on April 10, 1927, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. On the 3rd of March, 1935, he was united in marriage to Mildren Koehler at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. Walter moved to Cresco in 1952 and became a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He worked on the Milwaukee Railroad for 48 years, and after retiring in 1974, his enjoyment was working in his garden, taking care of his apple trees, and just walking around town.

Walter is survived by a son, Robert, Postville, a daughter, Marjorie Mikesell, Elgin, IL; five sisters, Malinda Bartz, Ruth Dalluge, Elsie Kline, Irene Hartwig, all of Grafton, and Genevieve Furness, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Richard, James, Karl, Lonnie and Jodi; and three great-grandchildren.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Emma Bork; his wife Mildred, five sisters and five brothers.
