William John Gansen – September 13, 1880 – October 23, 1963

WILLIAM J. GANSEN

Riceville – William J. Gansen, 83, died Wednesday at a nursing home here. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church here. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Elma. The Rosary will be said at Chisholm Funeral Home Thursday at 8 p.m.

Born September 13, 1880, at Bankston, Iowa, he was the son of Jacob and Mary Gansen. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth, Riceville; six sons; Matthias, Riceville; William, Lime Springs; Alphonsus, Elma; Lawrence, California; Philip, Riceville; John, Marble Rock; two daughters; Mrs. William (Ann) Tittle, Venice, California; Mrs. Jim (Gertrude) Womack, Riceville; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.
