Hattie Walter, 91, services held April 7

Services for Mrs. Hattie Walter, 91, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, in Zion United Methodist Church, rural Cresco. The Rev. Thomas A. Woodin officiated. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Bradley Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She died April 4 in Evans Memorial Home.

Hattie (Kratz) Walter, daughter of Michael and Caroline Kratz, was born in Winneshiek County on November 12, 1894. She lived in Winneshiek County until her marriage to Leonard Walter on March 20, 1916, at the Cresco United Methodist Church. They lived in Albion Township, Howard County, until 1964 when they retired and moved into Cresco. Hattie lived in her home until her health began to fail.

Hattie was a long time member of the Zion United Methodist Church where she was also a faithful member of the women's organization. She was also a devoted member of Twentieth Century Club in Cresco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; three brothers, Wesley, Alvln and Walter Kratz; and two sisters, Bertha and Mathilda.

Her only immediate survivors are nieces and nephews.
