Mrs. Albert Ludwig Dies in Rochester After Long Illness

Funeral services were hold from Bradley Funeral home Monday afternoon for Mrs. Albert Ludwig, 78, of Granger, who died in a Minnesota State hospital in Rochester, Friday, following a long illness.

The services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Butler, pastor of the Cresco Methodist church. Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Ludwig, the former Mary Magdaleen Volkman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Volkman, was born September 10, 1879, at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

At an early age Mrs. Ludwig moved to Granger, where she spent the remainder of her life. She was married to Albert W. Ludwig, of Cresco, March 11, 1905.

She was a member of the Granger Methodist church.

Surviving Mrs. Ludwig are her husband, Albert; one son, Ernest, of Preston, and one daughter, Rose, Mrs. William Bly of Mason City.

There are also surviving two brothers, Walter Volkman of Englewood, California, and Arthur Volkman of Bemidji, Minnesota; one sister, Mrs. Tillie Hatfield of Neligh, Nebraska; one half-brother, Amil Blotter of Bemidji; three grandchildren, Mrs. Mazie Capp, Mrs. Evangeline Ross and Mrs. Evelyn Jones, all of Cedar Rapids, and seven great grandchildren.
