Mrs. Clifford (Florence Krueger) Melcher

Mrs. Clifford W. Melcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Krueger of Albion township, died at the hospital in Aberdeen, S. D., Wednesday, July 26, 1933, following the birth of a baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Melcher Monday, July 24.

The body was brought to Cresco accompanied by Mr. Melcher and deceased's grandfather, John A. Fox, arriving Friday and was taken to the rural home of her parents. From there it was taken to Zion Evangelical church Saturday afternoon when funeral services were held, the pastor, the Rev. Park E. Miller, officiating. Music was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Reynolds of Granger who sang "Saved by Grace" and "I Surrender All." Miss Clara Dell Wlckham accompanying at the piano. Burial was in Cedar Hill cemetery. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were deceased's husband and grandfather, Clifford W. Melcher and John A. Fox of Aberdeen, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Melcher, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Overbeck, all of Mason City, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Bay Fox of Lyle, Minn.

Florence Gertrude Krueger was born April 18, 1899, at Cresco, Iowa. In 1926 she moved to the home of her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John A. Fox at Aberdeen and in 1928 was married to Clifford W. Melcher. At time of death she was 34 years, 3 months and 8 days old. Mrs. Melcher had been a member of the M. E. church of Granger since early childhood.

She is survived by her husband and their infant son Merlyn Milton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Krueger of Cresco; two brothers, Eldon and Merlyn; five sisters, Mrs. Carl Mandelko of Granger, Minn.; Inez, Naomi, Lenora and Violet Krueger of Cresco; her grandfather John A. Fox of Aberdeen, S. D., and many other relatives and friends. One sister, Myrtle Krueger Smith preceded her in death five years ago.
