OBITUARY

Called from the earth, away to eternal rest in Heaven above, from New Oregon, Iowa, Monday Oct. 16, 1865, James, eldest son of George and Sarah A. Duffy, aged 19 years and four months.

The deceased was but recently returned from Texas, where he had been in the service in Co. F 34 Iowa Infantry having been unwell for sometime with disease contracted in the South. He was taken suddenly while in this town with spasms, on Saturday previous to his death, consciousness being scarcely restored until about the time of his death. We sincerely condole with the deeply distressed and afflicted parents.
