Carrie Barth, 73, Dies Monday In Soda Springs

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Brown - Eldredge Mortuary for Mrs. Carrie J. Barth, 73, who died Monday morning in the Caribou County Hospital in Soda Springs. Rev. Manfred A. Carter will officiate.

Mrs. Barth died of heart trouble, relatives said. She was admited to the hospital Saturday noon.

The widow of Christian C. Barth, she had been a resident north of Blackfoot for 24 years. She had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 45 years and had been active in Red Cross work until the time of her last illness. In the last year she had knitted 83 Red Cross sweaters and 29 pairs of socks.

Mrs. Barth was born in Howard County, Ia. March 8, 1870. At the age of 11 she went with her parents to Weston, Ore. In January, 1889 she married Christian C. Barth at Walla Walla, Wash. They lived several years in Montana, returned to Weston, Ore., and Latah, Wash and then to Dubois before coming to Blackfoot in 1919. Her husband died in 1937.

She leaves three daughters, Annie and Lulu Barth of Blackfoot, and Mrs. Benton A. Poole of Mithou, Wash., and a half-brother, Joseph Wurzer of Weston, Ore.
