WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.
A surprise, which was a genuine success took place last Sunday noon, Dec. 12th, when Mr. John Bigalk and his honored spouse returned home from church. During their absence neighbors and relatives by the score had taken possession of the entire premises and had converted the home into a regular reception hall. The dining room was prettily decorated and two long tables spread, as for a banquet, were awaiting the arrived of the unsurmising and unsuspecting bridal couple Mr. and Mrs. John Bigalk, and other guests.
Not until the silver wreath was placed upon the bride’s head and a silver sprig placed upon the groom’s lapel, did both realize that their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary was being observed.
Before the guest were seated at the tables, their pastor, Rev. Deguisne, addressed the honored couple in a few appropriate words. Then an elaborate dinner followed; it was well after 3 o’clock when all the guests were served. A neat little sum in silver was given Mr. and Mrs. Bigalk as a token from their friends. All joined in congratulating and extending hearty wishes to the happily surprised couple, and expressed the hope that they might be permitted to celebrate their golden anniversary, twenty-five years hence.
