MARRIED.
A very beautiful and attractive wedding was solemnized at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Tuesday morning at 9:00, when Miss Elizabeth DeGroote and Elmer Van Dan Acker were united in the bonds of matrimony The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. P. Wagner.
The bride was attended by Miss Luella Van Dan Acker, of Mapleton, Ia., a sister of the groom, and Miss Martha DeGroote, a sister of the bride.
The groom was attended by George DeGroote, a brother of the bride, and Oc Van Der Heyden, a cousin of the bride.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given to the relatives and friends at the home of the bride’s parents.
The bride, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. DeGroote, was gowned in a dress of white messaline with pearl bead trimmings and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Miss Van Dan Acker wore a dress of white georgette crepe and Miss DeGroote wore a dress of yellow georgette crepe. The groom and his attendants wore suits of dark blue serge.
The groom is a son of Mr. Anton Van Dan Acker, of St. Paul, Minn., and was formerly engaged in forming at Mapleton, Ia., but for the past year and a half has been farming in this vicinity.
The happy young couple will reside at Cresco, Iowa, for the present.
After the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the home of the bride’s parents where a wedding dinner was served to about 50 guests. The young couple will reside on the farm with the bride’s parents, for the summer. The Plain Dealer extends hearty congratulations.
