Marriage licenses were issued Thursday, April 12th 1917 to Clemmens Offermann, age 26 of Hopkinton, Ia., and Ellen Sheridan, age 27 of New Hampton. Geo. Vanskiver age 21 of Cresco, and Myrtle Olive Henry age 16 Cresco. Will Volkring age 23, and Ida Shores, age 22, both of Cresco.

The approaching marriage of Miss Ellen Sheridan and Clem Offerman and Statia Truka and Frank Prochasky was announced for the first time in our Lady of Lourdes church.

Sheridan-Offerman Wedding.
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Tuesday morning, April 17th, at nine o’clock when Miss Nellie A. Sheridan and Mr. Clemmet Offermann marched to the strains of the wedding march and took their places at the altar where the words were spoken which united the young couple for life. Miss Bernadette Sheridan, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mr. Edward Offermann brother of the groom, acted as best man. Miss Oliva Frantzen was ring bearer.
The bride was beautifully growned{sic} in white silk chiffon over white messaline and carried a bouquet of pink and white bridal roses. The maid of honor was dressed in pale blue adora silk trimmed with pearl beads. The ring bearer was dressed in white silk and wore a bouquet of lilies of the valley in her hair. The groom and best man wore suits of dark blue. After the ceremony at the church the bridal couple returned to the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sheridan, where a wedding dinner was served to only the immediate relatives. After a brief honeymoon, they will reside on the groom’s farm near Dyersville. A long and happy wedded life is the wish of many dear friends.
