On Tuesday morning, Oct. 10th.1916, at 19 o’clock, the Holy Trinity Church of Protivin was the scene of a pretty wedding when Miss Louise Ann, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Shimek, became the bride of Mr. Lewis J. Moravetz.
The bride wore a gown of white chiffon gently weighted with pearls, over white silk marquisette. Her veil of white silk tulle was clasped with pearls and a wreath of lilies-of-the-valley crowned her head and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses and fern.
The groom wore a suit of dark blue serge and a bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley and rose with a suggestion of
fern.
The bridesmaid of honor, Miss Stefans Vandas, an Intimate cousin, was attired in a gown of yellow silk marquisette trimmed with yellow silk messaline with hat to match and carried a bouquet of deep pink roses and fern. Louis Hovarka, nephew of the groom, acted as best man and was attired in a suit of blue serge and wore a bouquet of deep pink roses. Bernadette Ann, the bride's youngest sister, was flower girl and wore a dress of light blue {illegible} sine silk and a spray of roses.
After the ceremony which was performed by Rev. Rud. Lakomy, they left for the home of the bride's parents where a large number of relatives and friends greeted them with congratulations. Under three large wedding bells and white garlands, an elaborate dinner was served.
A color scheme of green and white was carried out in the decorations of the room and the tables were decorated with roses and fern.
The bride is a bright and capable young lady and is well fitted for the responsibilities that are before her.
The groom, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Moravetz, is a thrifty and upright young man and is sure to make life happy for the girl of his choice.
They commence housekeeping on the groom’s farm near Schley, Iowa, where we trust their married life will be a long and happy one.

Transcriber’s Note: The groom’s name is spelled two different ways. Research shows Maravetz is correct.
