Married
Tuesday, Jan. 18th, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, occurred the marriage of Miss Margaret Loretta Fitzgerald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Fitzgerald to Irven Leo Ferrie, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Ferrie. Rev. J. J. Norris was celebrant of the Mass and performed the marriage. The young couple are spoken of in the very highest terms by their many friends who have known them all their lives. Alice and Katie Fitzgerald, sisters of the bride were maids of honor. Raphael Ferrie, brother of the groom, and Alphonsus McCarville, cousin of the bride, were best men. The bride wore a dark blue suit and white picture hat. The bridesmaids also wore blue. The groom wore conventional black.
The wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents, near Lourdes. The guests included the relatives of the bride and groom, a few intimate friends, also the members of the choir. The reception was given in the Schley hall in the evening which was well attended by their many relatives and friends. The young couple will commence housekeeping on the groom’s father’s farm south-west of Cresco. We join with a host of friends wishing them joy and happiness in their future life.Transcriber’s Note: The groom’s name is shown two different ways; research shows it was Irven Ferrie.
