Their 25th Anniversary.
The following item from the Cresco Times is now two weeks old, but the friends of W. J. Norton and wife will read it with interest:—
Oct. 15, 1871, Mr. Walter J. Norton and Miss Mary Farnsworth were married by Rev. Southworth, pastor of the Congregational church of Cresco. Last Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Norton celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of that happy event and entertained the whist club of which Mrs. Norton is a member. The parlors were beautifully brightened with roses, carnations and chrysanthemums, delicious refreshments were served and a merry evening was enjoyed.
