Married.
James H. Nichols and Bertha M. Mathews were united in the bonds of wedlock Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Speck in the presence of the immediate relatives of the contracting parties and a few intimate friends.
Before the ceremony Mrs. Dana Mead sang ‘‘Somewhere a Voice is Calling," after which the bridal party enteerd{sp} the parlor to the strains of Mendelsohn’s wedding march and took their places beneath a wedding bell of smilax, potted ferns and palms forming an artistic background. Rev. Kirwin of the Methodist Church officiated, using the ring [ceremony. Little Miss Irene Woods, gowned in white, with a white veil, was the only attendant of the bridal couple, carrying a dainty floral basket in which was placed the wedding ring. Following the ceremony congratulations were tendered the newly wedded couple, after which the company set down to daintly{sp} appointed tables where a delicious two-course dinner was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Nichols were the recipients of numerous gifts from their friends which will be greatly appreciated by them in their new home.
Both young people are well and favorably known here, the bride being the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mathews and the groom the son of Jerome Nichols. The congratulations and best wishes of their many friends follow them in their new life, in which the Plain Dealer joins.
