Christmas Wedding Bells.
At the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bale Pike, 4th St., and Benson ave., occurred the marriage on Thursday evening, Christmas eve., of Miss Torrey Pike and Harry Smith Abbott. Simplicity marked the pretty little wedding and the ceremony was witnessed by close relatives of the bride and bridegroom only. Dr. Jean Frederic Lobe, pastor of Bethel Congregational church, officiating.
Yuletide decorations of red and green were used throughout the house with the most pleasing effect. The ceremony was performed at 5:30 o’clock and at 6 o’clock the party, 24 in number, sat down to a bountiful Christmas wedding dinner.
The bride was attired in a simple frock of white and carried violets. She was unattended. Assisting with the serving of the dinner which followed the ceremony were Miss Helen Harding and Miss Irene Connors.
The bride for the past four yean has been the head of the domestic science department of Chaffey High school. She is a bright lovable girl and has been a general favorite of the school and students. Mr. Abbott for the past two yean has been cashier of the Euclid Savings bank and secretary of the Security mortgage company. He has a large circle of friends in Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Abbott will go to housekeeping at once in a delightful little bungalow which the bridegroom has but recently completed at No. 215 North Fern Ave.— Ontario, California, Record.
