MARRIED.
Wednesday evening, Oct. 23rd, at 8 o’clock, at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Carrie Handke at Cresco, occurred the marriage of Miss Elsie Emma to John H. Pierce, of Canton, Minn.,' Rev. Robertson, officiating. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Mae Handke, and the groom was attended by his brother Frank. The bride was beautifully dressed in cream messeline trimmed in silver lace, and the groom wore the conventional black. The ceremony was witnessed by about fifty guests, relatives and friends, and after the wedding a two course supper was served. The bride is a former resident of this place and is a young woman of splendid attainment and personal charm, and the groom has the excellent qualities that unite to make a sterling young man, and during his stay in our midst has won the esteem of all who know him. They will make their home here in the house where Elsie was raised, and where John has has{sic} the occupation of her father at cream hauling. They take to their new home the best wishes of a large circle of friends. They received many beautiful gifts of linen, china and silverware.
