Married at Austin
On Saturday last, Dec. 30, at the Catholic rectory at Austin, Minn., occurred the marriage of Miss Irma Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Becker, to Mr. Elmer D. Downey, of Austin. The young couple came down to Cresco on the evening train, Saturday, for a short visit with Cresco relatives, and will leave in a short time for Mason City, Iowa, where they will reside, Mr. Downey being the foreman for a plumbing firm at Austin who will soon open a branch house at Mason City with Mr. Downey in charge.
The groom is a stranger in Cresco but is said to be a straight forward, industrious young man of good character and in every way worthy of the bride he has won, and the young couple commence their married life with the good wishes of the bride’s many friends in this vicinity.
