Derr-Utke Wedding.
On Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 2nd, at two o’clock at the German Evangelical church at Crooked Creek, occurred the marriage of John Derr Jr. and Miss Anna Utke, Rev. Hille officiating. They were attended by Bertha Utke and Edward Derr.
The bride wore a gown of white messilene silk trimmed with insertion and lace, and carried a bouquet of white carnations. The bridesmaid wore a dress of white embroidery trimmed with insertion and lace and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. The groom and groomsman wore the conventional black.
After the ceremony, the wedded couple and only relatives returned to the home of the bride’s parents where a wedding supper was served. The evening was most joyfully spent in dancing and other amusements.
Mr. and Mrs. Derr will make their home on a farm near Cresco, Iowa. Those from abroad who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Derr Sr. and sons Edward and Jake of Cresco and Gusta Utke and Dora Beneke of New Albin, Iowa.
Their many relatives and friends wish them a long and happy life.— Caledonia Journal.
