Married.
A very beautiful wedding occurred on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 28, 1910, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Krueger in Albion township, Howard county, Iowa, at which time Miss Laura Schuman was married to Mr. Alben Peterson of Crookston, Minn.
At prompt three o’clock the bridal couple, who were accompanied by Edward Schuman, brother of the bride, and Herbert Keune as best man, and Misses Josie Walter and Lena Krueger as bridesmaids, took their places under a beautifully constructed arch, in the middle of which hung a large white bell, where the vow was taken. The wedding march was played by Miss Freda Schwab of Cresco. The ceremony was short and very impressive and was witnessed by about eighty invited guests. It was performed by the Rev. J. C. Schwab, the pastor of the bride.
Miss Schuman is well and favorably known in this community and is highly respected. Mr. Peterson is a stranger among us, but has the appearance of being a very desirable young man.
At four-thirty o’clock a sumptuous wedding dinner was served in the dining room. This meal was enjoyed to the full extent by all guests present. The evening was spent in a very pleasant manner in visiting and social chatting.
Mr. and Mrs. Peterson will spend about one week in this vicinity, after which they will leave for Crookston, Minn., where Mr. Peterson has and will be engaged in farming.
There were also a large number of beautiful presents as well as cash and other gifts bestowed upon these worthy people.
The best wishes of the entire community go with this young couple to their new home in Minnesota. May joy and success attend them on their journey through life is the desire of all their friends.
