Henke-Niewald Nuptials.
One of the prettiest weddings of the autumn was solemnized on Wednesday, Sept. 14th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Henke when their daughter, Miss Anna Henke, became the bride of Mr. George W. Niewald. Promptly at 3 o’clock to the strains of the Wedding March played by Mr. Baumgartner, the bridle couple, attended by the Misses Edith Henke and Bertha Ahrons as bride’s maids and Messrs. Albert Henke and John Aberly as best men, entered the parlor, where in the presence of about 200 relatives and friends the Rev. John Pless read the service that made them one. The bride was becomingly attired in a gown of blue satin with lace trimmings and wore the bridle{sic} veil and wreath. The groom wore the conventional black. After congratulations a wedding luncheon was served to which all did ample justice, after which Mr. Rob’t. Thomson took the bridal party for a swift auto ride. On their return, the evening was spent in dancing until a late hour.
The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Henke and has grown to womanhood here, and through her noble traits of character has endeared herself to all.
The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Niewald and during his six years of residence here has enjoyed the respect of a large circle of friends.
The couple were the recipients of many beautiful and costly gifts which shows the esteem in which they are held. We are pleased to note that they will stay in our midst and are now at home to receive their friends at the Niewald farm at Davis Corners.
May they taste of every pleasure, joy and love beyond all measure.
