On Monday, April 25, at the Catholic parsonage, in Elma, occurred the marriage of Miss Rose Sauer to Mr. Edward Smith, Rev. F. J. Gunn officiating. The bride, whose home is in Freeport, Ill., has made her home in Elma the past year and has made many friends while here. She is a young woman of sterling qualities and will make a dutiful wife and helpmate. The groom, Edward A. Smith, needs no introduction, as he has made this place his home for the past four years. He has many friends who wish the couple happiness and prosperity. The couple was attended by Frank Tyler and the groom’s sister, Miss Sylvia. Only the immediate relatives of the couple were present at the ceremony and the wedding dinner, which followed, was given at the Smith home. The young couple left on the afternoon train for Freeport on a short wedding trip. They were accompanied as far as Sumner by Frank Tyler, Sylvia Smith and Mrs. Sandy Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Smith returned Thursday evening and have gone to housekeeping on the east side. Their many friends wish them a long life of wedded happiness.
