Elma Wedding.
At Cecelia, Tuesday morning, Nov. 23rd, occurred the ceremony which united Miss Florence Roche and Mr. Francis J. Riley in the holy bonds of matrimony. At 9:30 the bridal party moved up the aisle to the strains of Mendellsohn’s Wedding March, where they were met at the altar by the groom and here the very impressive ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Nolan.
The bride was very becomingly attired in a blue suit and wore a beautiful light blue picture hat. Her sister Miss Mabel acted as bridesmaid, while the groom’s brother Vincent acted as groomsman.
Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride’s parents where a sumptuous dinner was served to their many relatives and friends.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Roche and is widely known in and around Elma. She has been a successful teacher in Howard County for several years and everyone speaks most highly of her. She is of a genial disposition and her winning ways have won her a host of friends who wish her a long and happy life of wedded bliss.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Riley of this place, and he also is well known, having lived here for the greater part of his life. He is an accomplished young man with sterling habits and possesses all of the qualities that go to make an ideal young man. He is to be congratulated on his choice of a life companion.
Mr. and Mrs. Riley were the recipients of numerous presents, both beautiful and valuable.
The happy couple will go to housekeeping on the groom’s farm in the near future. The PLAIN DEALER joins with their many friends in wishing them health, wealth and prosperity.
