The ladies of Albion and Cresco planned a very pleasant surprise at the home of Mrs. Elnora Richards, Saturday, in honor of the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. Williams, former pastor of Albion, now of Lime Springs. Just for convenience, the ladies took it upon themselves to vary the order of events by authorizing Mrs. Richards to invite the worthy couple to spend the day with her, where, upon their arrival about seventy of their most intimate friends of former days including many from Cresco, had met with well Idled baskets on this, one of the most joyous and long-to-be-remembered occasions ever celebrated in Albion. A sumptuous dinner was served by the ladies and the day was spent in social conversation. As a token of remembrance of the happy event, in behalf of the audience, Rev. Gammons of Cresco presented Rev. and Mrs. Williams with a collection of twenty dollars in silver, a silver bread tray and a foot rest. The crowd dispersed wishing Rev. and Mrs. Williams happiness and prosperity for many years to come.
