Quiet Home Wedding.
Mr. Frederick W. Pierce of Minneapolis and Miss Edna May Bents were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Bents, in Cresco, Tuesday, Sept. 28th, at 7:30 p. m. The ceremony was performed by Rev. John Gammons in the presence of a small company of relatives of the principals. Miss Carmichael of West Union sang “O Promise Me,” and Miss Effie Humphrey played the wedding march. Following the ceremony the young couple received the congratulations of the assembled company and then refreshments were served. Wednesday noon they departed for Minneapolis which place will be their home, and where the groom has a good position. They begin married life with the best wishes of the bride’s many Cresco friends who know her as a lovely and accomplished girl, capable of making a home all that it should be.Source: Twice-A-Week Plain Dealer Oct. 5, 1909, FP, C6
