MARRIED
Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burns, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Gladys, to Lloyd Horton, of Minot, N. D.
Promptly at 7:30, to the strains of the wedding march played by Mrs. R. W. Thomas and in the presence of the relatives and intimate friends, the contracting parties took their places in the prettily decorated parlor and were made man and wife, the pretty and impressive ring service being used. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Vera, and Miss Merle Anderson, of Preston, acted as maid of honor. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Arthur Johnson.
The bride was becomingly attired in a cream colored messaline silk and carried cream roses while her maid wore white and carried pink roses. The groom wore the conventional black.
After the ceremony the assembled guests were served with light refreshments.
The Misses Beuhlah Sanborn, Elsie Nash, Violet Horton and Beryl Burns acted as waiters. The bride then tossed her bouquet which was caught by Miss Elsie Nash.
Mrs. Horton is well known in this community and will be missed by everyone, while Lloyd is familiar to young and old, having clerked in Horton Bros, drug store last year.
They were the recipients of many beautiful gifts among which were cut glass, silverware, china and linen.
They took the evening train for Decorah, accompanied as far as Calmar by the majority of Lime Spring’s young people, from which place they departed Wednesday noon for Minneapolis.
They are followed by the congratulations of the whole community.
Among those from away who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kahout of Waucoma, Miss Jessie Sheldon, of Chicago, Miss Merle Anderson of Preston, and Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Horton, of Ft. Atkinson, Iowa.
