Double Wedding.
The Church of the Assumption was the scene of a double wedding on Tuesday morning of this week in which Will H. Shea and Mamie C. Dugan and Charles L. Franke and Anna E. Shea were the contracting parties. The marriage ceremony was performed by Father McCarty.
The first named couple were attended by Will Clancy and Eunice Wanless, and George Clark and Mamie Woods acted in a like capacity for the second couple.
All of the contracting parties are well and favorably known to a large circle of acquaintances. Mr. Shea and his sister have long been residents of this county. Will is geniality itself and has a host of friends, and his sister likewise possesses the esteem of all her acquaintances. Miss Dugan's home until recently was in the vicinity of Lourdes, and since coming to Cresco has made many friends who will rejoice that she is to become a permanent resident of our city. Mr. Franke is the popular baker who came to Cresco with the establishment of the Ideal bakery and during his residence here has by his quiet and gentlemanly ways won a host of friends who believe him in every way worthy of the bride he has won.
Mr. and Mrs. Shea have already commenced housekeeping in the groom’s residence on Waverly addition, and Mr. and Mrs. Franke will occupy the Searles cottage on High street.
The Plain Dealer joins with the other friends in hearty congratulations and best wishes for the health, happiness and success of these young people.
