A Former Cresco Boy Married.
That prince of good fellows, public spirited citizen and enterprising business man, Ingwald S. Steensland, has deserted the ranks of the bachelors and is now a partner in one of the most promising matrimonial firms that have been formed in this locality in many moons. The bride is Miss Anna Sorenson of Redfield, S. D., a charming and accomplished young lady who during her occasional visits to Hutchinson has acquired here many admiring friends. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. C. Hodgson at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Soren Sorenson, Wednesday at high noon. The couple entered the parlor to the music of Mendelssohn’s wedding march played by Miss Gladys Sauter and took their places under an arch of evergreens and white carnations. The bridesmaid was Miss Ruby Luckman; best man, Martin Sorenson. The bride was attired in a going away gown of blue. The room decorations were ferns and roses and white carnations. Only near relatives and friends of the happy couple were present, among them being the bride’s father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sorenson of Redfield, S. D., and the groom’s father, K. K. Steensland of Cresco, Iowa. The groom was sustained during the blissful ordeal by his personal friend, Geo. R. Kasson. Numerous presents, chiefly of silver ware, were bestowed. At the close of the ceremony the wedding party were served with refreshments on tables elegantly spread. After the repast was finished the bride and groom entered a waiting carriage and were driven—not to the station but to Brownton to take the train for a wedding trip of three or four weeks down the lakes, stopping at Chicago and Milwaukee and then to the groom’s old home in Cresco, Iowa, thus neatly giving the enthusiastic throwers of rice and aged footwear the slip. —Hutchinson Leader.
