LEFFLER-BOWERS.
The marriage of Miss Esther Bowers and Mr. Albert Leffler took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bowers Tuesday evening at eight o’clock. It was a pretty wedding, simple in every detail, and attended only by the relatives. The bride was gowned in white and carried bride’s roses. They were attended by Miss Myrtle Foye as bridesmaid and Mr. Henry Rathert as best man.
The ceremony took place in a bower of ferns and syringa and was performed by the Rev. William R. Hill, using the beautiful ring service. Mendelssohn’s wedding march was played by Miss Emma Watson. After the ceremony a supper of three courses was served by the Misses Vida and Dawn Hatter, cousins of the bride, and Tassie Richards, Lillian St. John and Miss Leffler.
The wedding gifts were both beautiful and useful and gave evidence of the high esteem in which both the bride and groom are held by their relatives and friends. Both are well known in this city. Miss Bowers is the pianist in the Baptist church. They will make their home in Cresco for the present.
The out of town guests were Misses Vida and Dawn Hatter of Dubuque and Mrs. Myrtle Bowers of LeRoy.
