A Pretty Home Wedding.,
On Wednesday morning of this week, at the home of the bride's father, occurred the marriage of Miss Sadie E. Thomson, eldest daughter of Robert Thomson, to Lee W. Prescott of Sloan, Iowa.
At the appointed hour, eleven o’clock Mrs. C. C. O’Malley sang a solo entitled “I for You and You for Me” words conveying the sentiment of the occasion set to the music of Mendelssohn’s "Spring Song.” This was followed by the wedding march played by Mrs. Bessie Grobel, and to its strains the bridal procession passed from the hall door to the elegantly decorated bay window of the back parlor where the ceremony took place, marching through an isle of white satin ribbon held by Gladys Tillson and Florence McCook. First came the little flower girl, Marcia Burgess, then the bridesmaid, May Thomson, followed by the bride on the arm of her father. They were met by the groom and his best man, Percy Thomson, and the officiating clergyman Rev. H. J. Hinman of the Congregational Church, who read the full marriage service of the Episcopal Church, the bride being given away by her father.
The house was profusely adorned with sweet peas, ferns and lillies of the valley.
The bride was gowned in white and carried a bouquet of lillies of the valley.
The groom wore the conventional black.
Following the ceremony, and after congratulations had been extended, a four course luncheon was served to the assembled guests, about sixty in number, including as out of town guests the parents and sisters of the groom from Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Wm Thomson, of Austin, Minn., Mrs. Ellen Thomson of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Alta Edwards of Albert Lea, Minn.
The happy couple left on the afternoon train for Sioux City for a stay of two weeks before commencing housekeeping at their future home at Sloan, Iowa, where the groom is a rising young physician.
