Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Last Saturday evening occurred a pleasant social event when Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Wheeler received about one hundred and twenty-five invited guests at the Strother House to help them celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler looked very youthful at the end of fifty years of married life. The bride looked charming in a gown of wisteria satin and the groom wore conventional black.
Mrs. C. C. O’Malley sang “The Last Rose of Summer” and “Killarney” in her usual pleasing style. An elegant lunch was served in the dining room. The table decorations were ferns and fifty beautiful brides roses which were sent by an friend, Mr. Williams, from Cleveland, Ohio.
The gifts were beautiful and costly and spoke of the regard in which Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler are held. The guests departed at a late hour wishing their hosts many more years of married life.
