Married in South Dakota.
Monday morning, Feb. 25, 1909, at the Catholic church in this city, Dr. J. J. Ahern and Miss Bessie O. Lee were united in marriage, Rev. Father Gucssen officiating.
At 9 o’clock, to the strains of Mendelsohn’s wedding march the bridal couple entered the church, proceeding to the altar railing, where Father Guessen, using the beautiful ring ceremony, joined the happy couple in holy wedlock. The bride was accompanied by Miss Marie Adimer and James A. Flynn, of this city and a former acquaintance of the groom was best man. The bride was gowned in white silk wearing a beautiful bridal veil. The groom wore the conventional black. After the ceremony high mass was read, the music being furnished by the choir, and a soprano solo by Mis{s} Kathrine Hamm, a baritone solo by Dr. Jurgens, and a violin obligato by Frank Petricka, Miss Myrtle Bigsby accompanist.
After the ceremony the bridal party, Father Guessen and the choir went to the home of the newly married couple where an elaborate four course wedding breakfast was served.
The contracting parties have been residents of Gregory for nearly two years and have won the esteem and respect of a large circle of acquaintances. Dr. Ahern has built up a very successful practice here and we hope Gregory will be fortunate enough to always claim this worthy couple as residents.
The Advocate extends hearty congratulations and wishes Dr. Ahern and his charming bride a long and happy married life.—Gregory (S. D.) Advocate.
