MARRIED.
One of the pleasantest social events of the season, occurred today at the home of Mrs. Martha Cameron of this city, when her daughter, Hattie, was given in marriage to Mr. Garfield R. Lockwood, of Independence, this state.
At the hour of twelve the bride and groom entered the parlor while Miss Clara Class played the wedding march.
Rev. John Gammons, in the presence of the assembled guests pronounced the words that made them husband and wife.
The bride was beautifully attired in white and carried a bouquet of red and white roses. The groom wore the conventional black.
The bride was born and grew to womanhood in this community, and has a host of friends who have learned to love her for her sterling worth and her charming manner. Miss Cameron's home has been with her mother here, except an absence of a few years spent in the State Normal at Cedar Falls and as a student in the Upper Iowa University at Fayette.
Mr. Lockwood is an honored alumnus of the U. I. U. having graduated from that institution in the class of ’06. He is at present county superintendent of schools of Buchananc ounty, sic} having been elected to that office this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood left on the afternoon train for Independence which is to be their future home
