Marriage licenses were issued last week to Otto Miller and Berthat Hinz and to Wm. J. Slifka and Mary A. Schneider.

Math. Komarek and Miss Frances Schneider left Monday for Schneider's home near Bonair to attend the wedding of Willie Slifka, of Oklahoma, to Miss Mary Schneider from near Bonair. The marriage took place Tuesday.

Tuesday morning September 29, 1908, at St. Joseph’s church, Cresco, Iowa, occurred the marriage of Mr. William J. Slifka and Miss Mary A. Schneider, Rev. H. J. Loosebrock officiating. The bride wore a gown of cream color, with bridal veil held by a wreath of natural flowers, also carried a bouquet of roses and white clematis,
The bridesmaid, Miss Louise Korbel and the maid of honor, Miss Louise Slifka, niece of of{sic} the groom, wore a gown of cream color. The groom and attendants, Mr. John Slifka, nephew of the groom, and Mr. Peter Schneider, brother of the bride, wore the conve{n}tional black.
Immediately following the ceremony the party retired to the home of the bride’s parents where dinner was served to the many invited guests; the dining room was beautifully decorated. In the early hours of evening a large crowd of young people had gathered to enjoy themselves in dancing and merrymaking, which continued until the wee hours of morn. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alois Schneider of Howard Center township, where she has grown to womanhood and by her charming ways has won a host of friends.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Slifka of Howard county, and is an Oklahoma farmer, also well worthy of the bride he has won.
The happy young couple were the recipients of many beautiful and costly presents.
