The Haney-Lyons Nuptials.
One of the prettiest weddings ever witnessed in Cresco was the marriage of Miss Angela Lyons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Lyons of this city, to Mr. James Albert Haney of Bismarck, N. Dakota, at the Church of the Assumption, on Tuesday morning.
Promptly at nine o’clock to the strains of Mendelsshon’s wedding march, the bride entered the church, leaning on the arm of her father and proceeded to the altar where they were meet{sic} by the groom and his attendants.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father McCartey, followed by nuptial high mass, celebrated by Rev. F. J. Gunn, Elma, Iowa.
The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of chiffon cloth over white taffeta entraine, and carried a shower bouquet of bride roses of lilies of the valley. Comment was unanimous upon her attractive appearance.
The maid of honor, Miss Eva Fitzgerald of Madison, S. D., was becomingly attired in a gown of pale blue silk mull. The bridesmaid, Miss Bernadette Glass, looked dainty and sweet in a gown of white organdy.
The groom was attended by Mr. J. Urban Lyons, brother of the bride, and Mr. George Valentine of Minneapolis. After the ceremony carriages conveyed the guests to the elegant home of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Lyons, where a three course breakfast was served. The parlors were decorated in American beauties. The decorative scheme of the dining-room was cleverly conceived and carried out. A golden hoop, suspended from the chandelier, held festoons of white ribbons which were carried to the corners of the tables, while tall Easter lilies and lilies of the valley lent their beauty to grace the occasion.
The bride has lived nearly all her life in Cresco and is one of the most beloved young ladies of our fair little city and will be greatly missed among a wide circle of friends, whose best wishes follow her to her new home.
The groom resided here for two years and made many warm friends, who wish for him and the lady of his choice all the joy and happiness this life affords.
Mr. and Mrs. Haney left on the 1:16 train for Bismarck, their future home.
The out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Haney, Henderson, Minn.; Miss Haney, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Fitzgerald and daughter Leona, Madison, S. D.; Mr. Dick Lyons, Ver¬million, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. John Rei, Madison, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Harrry{sic} Weiser, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Fitzgerald and daughter Gene¬vieve and son Edward, St Paul; Mrs. Mary A.
