Married On The Stage.
Mr. John Mangles, of the Warner Comedy Co., and Miss Jennie Brown, of Cresco, were married on the stage at Allison, Ia., after the show last Saturday night, Oct. 19, 1907.
The stage was set as a pretty parlor. As the curtain went up, Maude Howard, pianist for the company, played the wedding march while the witnesses came in from the center door. The ladies took their places on the left side of the stage and the gentlemen on the right side. The ladies were Leora Warner and Thalia Karback, and the gentlemen, Lee Church and Walter Warner. Then the Mayor of Allison, Mr. Sheppard, took his position in the the{sic} center. Cora Warner led the bride from the left wing to the center where they were met by the groom and Loyal H. Ford, who acted as best man. The ceremony was short but impressive.
The bride wore an elaborate white silk dress with panels of narrow ribbon put together with lace stitches and was very beautiful. The groom and the other gentlemen were in evening dress. The ladies wore white. When the bride and groom left the theatre crowds of spectators threw rice at them.— Elma New Era.
