A Pretty Home Wedding.
On Christmas day the delightful farm home of the Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Vance was the scene of a pretty home wedding in which their daughter, Gertrude Pearl, was one of the principals, being united in marriage to Eben C. Teetshorn, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Teetshorn, of Orleans twp.
As the appointed hour of eleven o’clock drew near the rooms were filled with the company of invited guests and promptly at the hour, to the strains of a wedding march played by Miss Frankie Farnsworth, the bride and groom accompanied by Miss Lucy Farnsworth as bridesmaid and Mr. Oliver Teetshorn as best man, proceeded to the appointed station in the parlor, where they were met by Rev. C. P. Kirby who in a short but impressive ceremony united the young couple in the holy bonds of matrimony. After the hearty and genuine congratulations of the assembled guests had been given the bridle couple, the company were seated to a most sumptuous repast to which full justice was done. The afternoon was merrily spent in social conversation till the guests departed wishing that the beautiful day and clear skies of the wedding day were a happy omen of the future married life of the young couple whose journey through life together had thus so auspiciously commenced. The young couple will commence housekeeping in the spring on a farm in Orleans Twp, which has been recently purchased by the groom.
The groom is an industrious young man of irreproachable habits, well worthy of his charming young bride, a young lady with the character, dis¬position and accomplishments which will make her a true wife and a help¬mate in every sense of the word.
Among the guests from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. P. Banning, of Fayette, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Winn, of Ossian, Mrs. Henry Webster, of Ossian, the Misses Calla and Lulu Banning, of Ossian, Mr. and Mrs. John Rosa, of Ossian, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Jones, of Ossian, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones, of Ossian, and Mrs. C. M. Vance, of Riceville.
