Walter-Michel Wedding.
The ceremonies of a very pretty home wedding were witnessed by relatives and friends at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. John Michel, Wednesday evening, Aug. 30th, when their daughter, Matilda Mabel, was given in marriage to Mr. Arthur R. Walter, of Albion.
Promptly at 4 o’clock, the wedding march was played by Jerome Michel, when the bride and groom entered attended by Miss Lena Walter, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, and Fred Reuter as best man, proceeding to the parlor where the ceremony took place.
The pastor of the Evangelical church, Rev. Weinands, pronounced them man and wife, and the ring ceremony was used.
The bride was prettily dressed in blue silk and carried bridal roses. The groom was dressed in conventional black.
At 6 o’clock the guests repaired to the dining room where an elaborate supper was served, which was heartily enjoyed by all.
The happy couple departed, Friday, on their wedding trip, with Minneapolis as the point of destination, first going to visit relatives and friends at Alta Vista. Their visit will be protracted until the middle of the month, when, upon their return, they will occupy the residence on the groom’s farm in Albion.
May their journey through life be a happy one.
