MARRIED.
Wednesday morning, July 19th, at 10 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Kline, occurred the marriage of their eldest daughter, Emma Louise, to Mr. Herman W. Uecker of Elkader, Iowa. At the appointed hour, to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Pearl Mahr of Elkader, the young couple attended by the bride’s sister, Miss Leah Kline as bride’s maid and Mr. Geo. Witt of Elkader as groomsman, took their place in the parlor where they were united in marriage according to the beautiful ritual of the Episcopal church by Rev. McVettle of Decorah
Following the ceremony, refreshments were served, and the young couple departed on the afternoon train for their future home in Elkader.
The bride is one of Cresco’s best young ladies, a graduate of the Cresco High School and of the State Normal, since when she has been one of the successful teachers in the Elkader public schools.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Uecker of Elkader, who with their daughter Jessie, were in attendance at the wedding. As the young man is unknown to us except as to a brief meeting in which favorable impresions{sic} were formed, we append a brief item from the Democrat, published in his home town where they can speak of him with more certain knowledge.
"Today at the home of the bride in Cresco occurs the marriage of Miss Louise Kline to Mr. H. W. Uecker of this city. This young couple need no introduction to our people as they are well and favorably known. The bride has for two years been a teacher in our public school, the groom the efficient cashier of the Elkader State Bank for several years. They will begin home keeping in the Gasier dwelling recently vacated by Otto Germar and family.”
The PLAIN DEALER, along with a host of Cresco friends of the bride, unite in congratulations.
