Last Saturday, Oct. 24th, marked the golden wedding anniversary of our good friends, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Fobes. Their daughter Mrs. Cora Boyer, planned a surprise for them by inviting about thirty of Mrs. Fobes’ lady friends and neighbors to spend the afternoon with her. The afternoon was passed with many pleasant remembrances of the past, and bright anticipations for the future. Of course the ladies did not forget their well filled lunch baskets and a parlor picnic supper was the result. Mrs. Fobes was presented with a purse of gold.—Cresco Republican.
