The Carnival had a good effect on the matrimonial market last week, nine marriage licenses having been issued by Clerk Hatter: Benjamin Craig and Minnie Easler, John Schultz and Olga Knopf, Joseph O’Hollearn and Lizzie Norton, Joseph Kellner and Barbara Balak, L. F. Umhoefer and Cora Slasor, Charles A. Derr and Anna Jacobson, James Woods and and{sic} Lucy Bachel, J. A. Hall and Persia DeNoyelles, Leonard D. Steele and Gertrude B. Tinker.

MARRIED.
Last Tuesday morning at 9;30 o’clock Mr. Joseph O’Hollern, and Miss Lizzie Norton were united in marriage at St. Mary’s church In Lourdes, Rev. Father Nelson officiating. Many friends and relatives assembled at the church to witness the beautiful cere-mony, after which the bridal party and friends returned to the home of the bride’s parents where a sumptuous dinner was prepared. After a few hours spent in social intercourse their dear friends, the bride and groom started for New Hampton, midst the kind wishes of their many friends. There they took the 9:30 train for Chicago, where they intend to remain two weeks and they will also take in Dubuque on their way home. The groom is an honest energetic young farmer of Chickisaw{sic} county, where he has numerous friends. The bride is a popular young lady of charming disposition, which has gained for her numerous friends. She has been one of Howard county’s most successful teachers, loved by her pupils everywhere. We hope that the happy couple will meet with no ob-stacle that will in anyway mar the happy union they have chosen.The groom’s last name is spelled two different ways.
