SCHOLZ—MEAD— At THE home of the bride’s parents in Cresco Thursday, December 25, 1902, by the Rev. John Gammons, Mr. William F. Scholz and Miss Charlotte M. Mead all of this city.
At six o’clock the wedding guests, consisting of relatives and personal friends of the family had came and Miss Lauraine Mead commenced the important ceremony by playing the wedding march during which the bride and groom, followed by Rev Gammons took their respective positions for the important event, the marriage ceremony of the Episcopal service being used for the occasion. The parlors were beautifully trimmed, the bride elegantly, yet modestly attired, the groom in conventional black. The bride for the past year or more has been purveyor and reporter of the local events for the PLAIN DEALER; how discriminating, faithful and well that duty has been performed, the columns of the paper and its patrons bear willing and abundant testimony. The groom is clerk in the drug store of P. A. Clemmer, of this city and is a young man of good character and worth. After the ceremony an excellent and substantial wedding feast was served, to which the guests did full and ample justice. The wedding presents were elegant, useful and valuable.Source: Twice-A-Week Plain Dealer Dec. 26, 1902, FP, C5
