The Schimming-Tierney Marriage-
Wednesday morning at St. Patrick’s church in this city, Rev. Father Walsh officiating, occurred the marriage of two of Waukon’s well known young people, Mr. John G. Schimming and Miss Nellie Tierney. The marriage was consummated in the presence of the relatives and near friends of the contracting parties, after which a delicious wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride. The bride’s gown was a lovely creation in white mull, lace trimmed. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Tierney, attired in blue organdie, while the groom’s best man was John Collins. Wednesday noon, Mr. and Mrs. Schimming started for Cresco and other points where they will visit friends, and later will go to Minneapolis, after which they will be “at home” in this city.
The bride is one of Waukon’s popular young ladies and enjoys the respect and friendship of a large circle of friends who cannot speak too highly of her nor wish her too much happiness in her new life.
The groom, Mr. Schimming, has been with Dr. W. T. Gilchrist in his drug store for several years and though very quiet and retiring, yet has made many firm friends during his residence in our city.
Mr. and Mrs. Schimming start out in their new life with the brightest of prospects, and the Standard united with many others in wishing that all the joys they now anticipate may be realized.--Waukon Standard.
The PLAIN DEALER joins with the many Cresco friends of the happy couple in hearty congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Schimming are at present guests at the home of the former's sister, Mrs. A. C. Campbell.
