Marriage licences{sic} were issued July 2, to Mr. Clifford McCook and Miss Minnie Irvin: both of Afton. Also Mr. G. W. Merrill and Miss Julia Nelson of Saratoga.

MCCOOK—IRVIN—At the Congregational church in Riceville on Tuesday morning, July 3, 1900, by the Rev. N. L. Packard, Mr. Clifford McCook to Miss Minnie Irvin, both of Alton township.
The bride, the eldest daughter of Jas. Irvin, is a bright and accomplished young lady with graceful tact and winning ways. The groom,a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. McCook, is one of the sturdy, hardworking young farmers with which Afton abounds and has the qualities of endurance and pluck that ensures success.
The Democrat but expresses the sentiment of their friends, who are legion, when it congratulates them and wishes them the health, happiness and prosperity which they deserve.
A pleasant reception was held at the Irvin home Tuesday night. The young couple will go to house-keeping immediately. Elma Democrat.
