Dr. I. E. McVey and Miss Kathryne Barker are to be married at the bride’s parents in Orleans this (Thursday) evening.

A Beautiful Home Wedding-
One of the most important events in social circles was the pleasant home wedding last Thursday, at which time Miss Kathryne Barker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. I. Barker, was joined in wedlock to Dr. I. E. McVay, in the presence of numerous relatives of the contracting parties.
At 6 o’clock Mrs. Orvine McHugh played the opening bars of Mondelssohn’s Wedding March, to which the bridal party marched to the beautiful floral bower, beneath which Rev. Heald pronounced the words which joined them in holy matrimony. Immediately after the ceremony a two-course supper was served to which all present did ample justice.
The bride was beautifully gowned in a dress of Persian lawn, and carried bride’s roses, while the groom wore the conventional suit of black.
Dr. and Mrs. McVay were recipents{sic} of numerous and beautiful presents, thereby showing the universal esteem in which the young couple are held.
The bride has always lived in Cresco and vicinity, being one of our most popular young ladies, and a universal favorite in social circles. She is a young woman of sterling qualities, well fitted for the sacred duties of wife-hood.
Although the groom has lived but a short time in our city, we recognize in him a young man of excellent abilities, and a master of the profession he has chosen. By his genial manner he has made many frieds who think him well worthy of the prize he has won.
