A Silver Wedding Party
of invited guests, numbering about so persons, met with Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Norton at their pleasant farm home Saturday evening, to assist them in the proper observance of their 25 wedding anniversary. An evening of pleasure and agreable{sic} conversation passed all too rapidly, indeed before a person had time to get around and spend a few moments with each, with whom he might desire to exchange the courtesies of thoughtful intercourse. The supper, though the least important part of the entertainment, was ample and excellent, and most charmingly and pleasantly served. Though the cards of invitation read “No presents desired” the invited friends of this worthy couple omitted presents, but gave to them a memento of their good will and wishes which they can keep and enjoy all their lives, being solid silver tea, desert and berry spoons, which they can keep and cherish as a sacred remembrance from true and worthy friends. Each of the many friends, after a most enjoyable evening bid them good night with the wish expressed or entertained, that all those present may meet to help them celebrate their golden wedding.
