BARTELS--WESTENDORF--
At 2;30 o'clock this afternoon in the Lutheran church in Alta Vista, occurred the marriage of Miss Louise Westendorf. of Chickasaw Co. to Mr. Fred Bartels, of Howard Co., Rey. J. Westenberger officiating. After the ceremony a large number of guests gathered at the home of the bride’s parents, near Alta Vista, and partook of a royal wedding feast and spent the remainder of the afternoon and evening of pleasantries and merry making. An almost endless number of valuable presents were bestowed upon the young couple, The bride is the highly respected daughter of Mr. John Westendorf, one of Alta Vista’s well-to-do farmers, while the groom is a son of Mr. E. F. Bartels, living near Maple Leaf. These young people start out in life with bright prospects and the best wishes of a large circle of friends.-Elma New Register, Thursday. December 8, ’98.
