The guests at the Walter—Ficken wedding from other points were Fred Harberg, Wm. Ihde, John Grentzmasher, Joe and John Steffen, Garnavillo; Louis and the Misses. Mary and Lydia Harnuck, Monona, and Mr. Julius P. Soltow, Milwaukee.
On Thursday, Sept. 15th, the many invited guests assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. Soltow, the event being the marriage of their daughter, Miss Maggie Ficken to Mr. Andrew J. Walter, of Garnavillo, Rev. U. A. Marshall officiating. After the cerimony{sic} the guests did ample justice to the wedding feast and during the afternoon and evening, eating and “tripping the light fantastic” was the order of the day. The groom is one of Garnavillo’s popular young men and the bride is one of Orleans accomplished young ladies and needs no words of commendation from her large list of acquaintances. May the wedded life of this young couple be long and happy is the wish of the PEE DEE correspondent.
