County Clerk Loomis, on Saturday last, broke the record by the issuance of four marriage licenses in one day. He wishes us to state that in the future, Saturday will be a day of special bargains in this department— every license will be furnished at cost. Following were the Saturday purchasers of tickets in the matrimonial lottery: Garrett J. Hoopman and Louise Breitsprecher; Arthur Blazek and Mary Bouska; John W. Davorak and Nettie Walters; Alvin H. Brown and Abigal I. Colby. In one case was quite a romantic tinge, the contracting parties having carried on their courtship by correspondence, and the brides parents knew nothing of the affair till the afternoon of the day the would be groom arrived. Some difficulty was encountered in the procurement of the license, the groom having no acquaintances in the town to make the necessary affidavit, and the brides father at first declined to perform that office, but finally relented and now has a reputed minister of the gospel for a new son in law.
